- Characteristics: Natural, cold-pressed, unrefined, very pure hemp oil, without admixture of other types of oil. It is obtained by pressing the seeds of the technical hemp Cannabis sativa, which does not contain the psychoactive substance THC - Tetrahydrocannabinol.
Hemp oil from technical hemp contains only a small - rather only trace amount of Cannabidiol (CBD), which belongs to the group of substances called cannabinoids, which are found in nature only in hemp plants. Chemically, CBD and THC are closely related, but CBD is not psychoactive. On the contrary, it works as an inhibitor ( dampening ) of the many effects of THC. Cannabidiol also protects nerve cells against lack of oxygen and against various poisons, including alcohol poisoning - it slows down cellular aging. But if you need hemp oil with a high proportion of CBD for medicinal effects, you need to buy a special product that is enriched with CBD.
Hemp oil is cold-pressed at a temperature of up to 40 °C, has a distinct "grassy" smell of the plant in question and a mild nutty taste. It has a dark green-yellow color, characteristic of natural, raw, cold-pressed hemp oil.
The hemp oil we offer is not refined (chemically purified) and therefore not deprived of natural aromatic and flavoring substances, it has a high nutritional value thanks to the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids, namely 3:1, which corresponds to the balance required by most large mammals.
- Possibilities of use: Hemp oil is one of the most effective oils in terms of health prevention. It is suitable to be given as a supportive supplement for skin diseases, fur problems, allergic reactions, for sports and service-stressed dogs, in the winter, etc. Cold-pressed hemp oil is also an excellent food supplement for dogs fed meat, the so-called BARFing.
- Approximate dosage: Preventive: 6 - 10 ml / day / 15 kg of dog weight. In acute conditions: 10-15 ml for 1-2 weeks, then reduce to a preventive dose. Mix into feed, can also be combined with other oils - e.g. salmon oil.
However, the total fat content of the feed should not exceed 20-22%. This means that if the feed contains 15% fat, you can add only 5-7% oil (depending on the activity and size of the dog).
- Storage and consumption: Hemp oil is sensitive to ultraviolet radiation - direct sunlight, and to higher temperatures. Therefore, store it in dark bottles and in the dark, preferably at a temperature of up to 10 °C - a refrigerator.
Best consumed within 10 months when stored in the cold.
