Mineral content - average in 1 kg: Ash - 88.7%, Calcium - 35%, Phosphorus - 0.22%, Sodium - 0.15%, Potassium - 0.1%, Magnesium - 0.41%, Iron - 21 mg.

  • Characteristics: The eggshells we offer come from a Czech company dealing with the processing of chicken eggs for the food industry. The secondary raw material is the shells, which are heat-treated against salmonellosis germs, then dried and ground into a fine flour - including the sub-shell membrane.

Egg shell membrane is a rich source of collagen, glycosaminoglycan and elastin - substances necessary for joint nutrition. These membranes appear in the flour as larger flexible pieces.

The old superstitions of many breeders about the poor digestibility of shells by dogs are nonsense. Shells are a natural, natural raw material, similar to bones. The dog is very well adapted for their digestion and the use of calcium from them. His gastric juices have a pH of 2.5, which corresponds to concentrated sulfuric acid. Such an acidic environment decomposes bones very easily, let alone finely ground eggshells.

Possibilities of use: However, not every dog wants or can eat bones. Especially for small breeds, where feeding bones is problematic, shells can become an excellent alternative for them, as a natural and easily digestible source of calcium.

Finely ground eggshells are easily wrapped on raw meat, or easily incorporated into minced meat, preserves, wet side dishes, or into granules macerated with oil or broth. They do not affect the taste or smell of the food and the dog will eat them without hesitation.

  • Recommended dosage: One gram of ground eggshells contains 350 mg of pure calcium. The average daily calcium requirement of a dog is about 70 - 90 mg / 1 kg of its weight. Pregnant and lactating bitches need 180-200 mg/kg. It is the same for very active dogs, growing puppies (after weaning) - especially large and giant breeds.

Small and medium breeds:i n a normal daily regime, 1 - 2 g of flour / 5 kg of weight

Large breeds and very active dogs: 2 - 3 g meal / 5 kg weight

Pregnant and lactating bitches: 3-4 g meal / 5 kg weight

(1 teaspoon equals about 4g of our eggshell flour)

A short-term or sudden overdose of eggshells will not harm the dog at all. It is not a mineral concentrate or medication, but a natural raw material, and the dog will only take as much of it as its body needs.

  • Storage and consumption: Store eggshell flour tightly closed in PVC packaging and in a dry place.

Best consumed within 12 months of purchase. It can last for several years if stored properly.
